BFA LaLiga Youth Tournament Press Conference

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei – 10th September 2023

The Brazilian Football Academy (BFA), a dedicated institution renowned for its commitment to nurturing young football talent, held its second press conference on 10th September 2023 to unveil the players who were selected by the coaches to represent the academy in their second international tournament.The international tournament is expected to be held in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. The opening ceremony will be held on 15th September 2023 and the games will kick-off on the 16th until 17th September 2023.

LaLiga youth tournament is recognized as the first official youth tournament that is being endorsed by the world’s biggest league,

LaLiga. The tournament is set to invite the best elite teams from all around ASIA including Brunei Darussalam. BFA has selected 12 talented under 10 players to participate in the tournament. Through this tournament, the academy is determined to provide its promising young athletes with international exposure and opportunities for growth.

Our team’s first game is set to kick-off on 16th September 2023 which is when the group stages commence. Our 7-a-side team along with 5 rolling substitutes will continue to compete until 17th September 2023. The teams who make it out of the group stages will then continue to compete in the knockout stages to determine the top 2 teams who will be receiving a trophy from the organisers.

In preparation of the upcoming tournament, to ensure that the players are in the best conditions over a course of one month, the players have utilized their time to polish their football skills, understand the tactics, gameplay, and improving their teamwork under the supervision and lead of BFA’s experienced coaches in order to give their best performance during the LaLiga tournament.

One of the highlights of the press conference was the jersey unveiling alongside an official group photo to officially introduce the team to the families, friends and media. The press conference also held a question and answer session between the players, coaches and media representatives to give more details on the tournament and insights on how the players are feeling ahead of the press conference. 

Among those who were present in the press conference were, BFA’s sponsor representatives for the LaLiga Youth Tournament, Shine cycle and Shinex. A token of appreciation was handed out to recognize the instrumental role they played in enabling BFA’s participation in the LaLiga Youth Tournament. These sponsors have shown their support to the development of sports such as football for young athletes in Brunei and their belief in the youth’s potential to compete well at an international level. 

BFA’s participation in the LaLiga Youth Tournament aligns with the Academy’s mission to develop well-rounded individuals and exceptional footballers who can excel both on and off the field. The tournament offers a unique opportunity for cultural exchange among participants from diverse backgrounds and a chance for the young athletes to showcase their skills on the international stage.

The LaLiga Youth Tournament will commence in Genting Highlands, Malaysia on 15th September 2023 to 17th September 2023 with BFA’s under-10 team competing against best elite teams from all around ASIA. The players are eagerly looking forward to representing their country, academy, and sponsors, and they are determined to give their best performance in the tournament.
